Audience measurement
This site uses a self-hosted instance of Umami, an open-source analytics tool, to count visits and see which pages are read. Umami sets no cookie, stores no IP address and no identifier that could follow you from one site to another; the measurement runs on the same server as the site, in Germany, and nothing is passed to third parties. Browsers that send the “Do Not Track” signal are not counted.
Privacy
The controller is the operator named above; you can reach him at the contact details above.
Server logs. When you open a page, the server records the date and time, the address requested, the response status, the referring page and your browser’s identification, with a truncated IP address: the last part is removed (IPv4 /24, IPv6 /48), so it no longer points to a single connection. These logs serve the security and operation of the site (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and are deleted after 14 days.
Blind duel. If you vote in the Duel, the site sets two technical cookies: a session cookie, so that the same vote is not counted twice, and a security cookie that protects the form. They hold no personal information and the session expires after two weeks. Your vote is stored with a one-way hash of the session identifier, never with your IP address or your name. These cookies are strictly necessary for the service you ask for and need no consent.
Audience measurement. See the section above: no cookie, no IP address stored.
No data is sold or passed to third parties. The site and its data are hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany.
Your rights. You may ask for access to, correction or deletion of data about you, restrict or object to its processing (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR), and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA, Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany). Because addresses are truncated and votes only carry a hash, we usually cannot link any of this data to you.
